Great interpetation of original Brasilian music that brings the real sounds, feel, and romantic spirit of the country to life. Every track on this CD is fabulous.
The saxophone is intrusive (unlike Byrd's collaboration with Scott Hamilton) and detracts from Byrd's virtuoso guitar playing. I love most Charlie Byrd album, but this one isn't one of my favorites.
Não se arrependerão, asseguro. Recomendo a todos. Como brasileiro, não posso deixar de elogiar este album do Charlie Byrd. É simplesmente maravilhoso, perfeito, um verdadeiro primor.
If you are already a fan, this is a wonderful way to preserve those beautiful songs, and his beautiful renditions. Every song is a thing of beauty before Charlie finishes it. I am so glad I can revisit my favorite guitarist. I haven't received this CD yet, but I have the paper-thin albums of these renditions. I have been a Charlie Byrd fan for many years, and will continue to be.If you love latin rhythms, if you love the sound of a sweet and mellow guitar, you are in for a treat.
those written by Jobim, from Byrd's other albums but, to your surprise in many cases, you may find yourself preferring these renditions. Bossa nova standards where every note from every musiciancounts with no orchestra to detract from the simplebeauty of each. You will be familiar with most of these songs, esp.
